Performing Arts Classes

Our children’s performing arts classes are designed to be inclusive, confidence-building, and fun, giving young people the opportunity to explore drama and dance in a supportive, welcoming environment. Every class encourages teamwork, self-expression, and involvement, with a strong focus on wellbeing as well as skill development.All classes are led by qualified, experienced teachers and form part of KAM Performing Arts’ wider commitment to accessible, high-quality arts education.

Children's Drama Classes (Ages 5–13)

Starting: April 2026

Class Times:

Ages 5–8: Saturdays, 11:30am – 12:30pm

Ages 9–13: Saturdays, 12:45pm – 1:45pm

Our drama classes focus on:

  • Confidence and communication skills

  • Imagination and storytelling

  • Teamwork and collaboration

  • Character work and creative play

Sessions are relaxed, inclusive, and supportive, making them ideal for both confident performers and children who are new to drama.

Children's Dance Classes (Ages 5–13)

Location:
Common Ground Community Resource Centre
Brooklyn Road, Cheltenham

Class Times:

  • Ages 5–8: Saturdays, 10:00am – 11:00am

  • Ages 9–13: Saturdays, 12:00pm – 1:00pm

Our dance classes are designed to:

  • Build coordination, strength, and musicality

  • Encourage creativity and self-expression

  • Develop confidence in a low-pressure setting

  • Promote positive movement experiences for all abilities

Classes are inclusive and adaptable, supporting each child to progress at their own pace.

Funded & Supported Places - Dance and Drama

We are proud to have received funding from the Barnwood Trust, enabling us to offer part-funded places on our children’s classes for:

  • Children with disabilities

  • Children with additional needs

  • Children experiencing mental health challenges

This funding allows us to remove barriers to participation and ensure that every child has the opportunity to experience the benefits of the performing arts.

In addition, we offer financial support for families living in West Cheltenham (GL1 area). This support reflects our commitment to community access, ensuring that cost is not a barrier to creativity, confidence, and connection.

Children's Performance Opportunities & Partnerships

We believe performance should be positive, inclusive, and pressure-free.

Children taking part in our classes are invited to:

  • Participate in termly, low-pressure performances

  • Share their work in a supportive, celebratory environment

  • Build confidence without auditions or competition

We are proud to work in partnership with the Everyman Theatre, rehearsing in their new Everyman Community Building and providing opportunities for children to perform within a professional theatre setting. This partnership helps children feel inspired, valued, and connected to Cheltenham’s wider cultural community.
